The Grounds crew and Pro Shop Staff
at Edgmont Country Club do their very best to keep the course and
practice areas clean and in good condition.
The
Player also has responsibilities to help keep the course playable in
a similar condition for those coming after them. This concept is such
an important part of the game the USGA has "Course Care" in
the very first section of the rules (SECTION
I ETIQUETTE; BEHAVIOR ON THE COURSE). Course Care is a rule and
part of playing the game properly.
Below are links to instructions for best practices on what
the player is responsible to do to care for the course. Three areas of course care that management and staff
ask players to focus on are:
1) Please repair your ball mark and one other on the
green. (See below for instructions) A properly repaired ball mark is
playable immediately and will heal in days while one that is not repaired
can take weeks to heal.
2) Please follow cart use instructions.
- Stay on the cart
paths on designated holes Cart path only holes are the low holes
1, 2, 11 & 12 and all par 3s 3,6,10, 17.
- Follow any permenate or temporary cart instructions, signs or
ropes due to areas under repair or weather hole conditions.
- On holes that are not 100% cart path scatter
prior to end of the tee path and prior to the beginning of the
green path. The cart paths were lengthen and rerouted away
from fairways to encourage scatter which will reduce damage at
the end of the path.
3) Divot repair on Tees and Fairways
- On tees remember to use the sand mixture to fill in divots
- In fairways replace divots and or use the sand mixture in the provided
bottles on the carts.
